Problem:
A user tries to open relimed by clicking on the shortcut icon. Clicking this icon normally opens up the log in window, but this time there are brief loading windows and then nothing. No log in window opens and there are no background processes showing in task manager.
Why this happens:
This usually means that relimed is being blocked from opening by another application or a firewall setting. Has the computer recently updated? Windows updates could cause firewall or security settings to change and there are Windows settings that can automatically block any applications not registered with Microsoft.
Solutions:
- Disable Smart App Control
- Click the Start button and type Windows Security.
- Open Windows Security.
- Click on App & Browser control.
- Go to the Smart App Control section and click on Smart App Control settings.
- Click on the Off radio control button to turn off Smart App Control.
- If prompted if you would like to make these changes, click yes.
- Add ReLiMed as an exception to Window's firewall
- Click the Start button and type Windows Security.
- Open Windows Security.
- Click Virus & threat protection settings then on Manage settings.
- Scroll down to the Exclusions section and click Add or remove exclusions.
- Click + Add an exclusion.
- Select Folder from the dropdown menu.
- Navigate to the following folder:
- C:\ReLi Med Solutions\Programs\EMR
- Click Select Folder.
- If prompted by User Account Control (UAC), click Yes.
- Verify that C:\ReLi Med Solutions\Programs\EMR is now showing under exclusions.
