How Can I Delete a Message Sent in Error / For the Wrong Patient
print icon

If a message was sent with a patient attached, it will show in the patient's chart -> Patient Messages. If this was in error, you may want to remove it from the patient's chart.

To do this, each message receiver (Users in the TO section) must delete the message. It will not be removed from the patient chart until ALL receivers delete it.

A true delete requires deleting it from your Inbox or Viewed box which will move it to your "Deleted Messages" box and then Delete it from there, which will make it a permanent delete. This is much how regular email works. You must first delete and then permanently delete it.

NOTE: The user that SENT the message will not be able to delete it

To delete a message:

1. Go to Messages, then from your Viewed or New inbox, select that message with the Select checkbox and click on Delete:

2. Then click on your Deleted Messages box, select and Delete it again:

3.  Have EVERY user that received this message repeat these steps and then the message will be removed from the patient chart.
