Getting Error When Trying to Delete Patient Insurance that was Entered Incorrectly

Once you add Primary Insurance for a patient and it is assigned to a claim, you may get an error when trying to delete it using the red X. 

 

If this was truly an error and the insurance should not be on the patient, follow these steps to delete it:

 

  1. Edit incorrect payor insurance record to level = Supplemental 
  2. Add new (good) insurance with proper payor with level = Primary
  3. Delete the  incorrect insurance with the red X and it should allow you
