Lab orders: Bill type & CPT codes

Lab orders have 3 bill types when adding these to a patients chart.

1. Third Party Billing: Insurance billing, the lab will receive the insurance that is in the patients chart to bill the labs to then will bill the patient what they are responsible for.

2. Client Billing: The provider/ Dr Office will be billed by the laboratory and then the patient will owe the office directly for the labs.

3. Patient Billing: The lab will bill directly to the patient as an out-of-pocket or self-pay expense.

Third party will default in the system when adding labs to order within the patients chart.

If you would like all Self-pay patients lab orders to be automatically set to 'Client bill' our system does have a preference we can set to do this. PLEASE contact relimed directly requesting us to turn this preference on.

If your staff would also like when a patients lab order is being set as 'Client bill' we can automatically add the CPT codes for each lab selected add to the charges tab within the encounter. We only have the CPT codes if the lab company has directly provided this to us with the lab compendium. (EX: LabCorp) PLEASE contact ReLimed directly requesting us to turn this preference on.

*With this feature, since you may be charging self-pay charges. If you provide Support with your charge amounts for each lab, we can also add these codes to your self-pay fee schedule and add the appropriate overrides*
